OTTUMWA Several area residents were recognized for their outstanding photography during the Third Annual Eagle Walk on Saturday at Bridge View Center. The event, sponsored by the Wapello County Trails Council, featured an educational program on eagles, a hike to view bald eagles along the Des Moines River, and an Iowa wildlife photographer. A photo contest was also held in cooperation with The Ottumwa Courier, The Photo Shop and the Ottumwa Chamber of Commerce.
First, second, and third place awards were given to photographs in three categorieseagles, barns, and outdoor art for both adults and youth. Approximately 100 entries were submitted.
Tom Howd of Bloomfield received Best of Show for his Eagle photograph. Other winners included:
